Ambergris (am-ber-griss) Caye is a small island forming part of what is the north islands off the coast of Belize. In fact it is one of the most famous and most visited islands by locals and tourist alike. Ambergris Caye measures 25 miles long and 5 miles across at its widest point. Although much of it is less than half a mile across.
The main town on Ambergris Caye is San Pedro. As a matter of fact it is the heart of island and offers a wide range of restaurants, bars, souvenir shops, and banks. In fact since the airstrip is also located in town, most resorts and hotels are only 2 or 3 minutes away.
